In Memory of Naomi Betsy Krilla
January 11, 1951 – August 22, 2026
Naomi touched so many lives with her humor, kindness, strength, and generous spirit. She is deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
She had a lifelong love of dogs and was happiest surrounded by them. There wasn’t a dog she met that didn’t love her right back. They were a constant source of companionship, joy, and laughter throughout her life.
As we celebrate Naomi’s life and the many wonderful memories she gave us, we have created this memorial fundraiser to support Soulshine Dog Rescue, a small, San Diego-based, volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need, including many from Mexico. Naomi’s beloved Ginny was also a rescue from Mexico, making this cause especially close to our hearts. Soulshine operates through foster homes, providing rescued dogs with veterinary care, safety, and individual attention before thoughtfully matching them with loving forever homes.
A beautiful way to honor Naomi and celebrate her life is to help an animal find the love and care she believed every dog deserved.

2026 fundraising goal
We are aiming to raise $25,000 this year, which will go directly towards
the care and well-being of our rescued dogs.
This includes:
Urgent Surgeries
Many of the surgeries we pay for are from dogs being ran over, genetic conditions, physical abuse or general neglect
Healthcare
Essential vaccines, spay/neuter procedures, and 5DX testing to ensure they are healthy and ready for their forever homes.
Basic Necessities
Covering the costs of transport, boarding, and nutritious dog food until these loving dogs find their family.
